drunken post

as I’m writing this right now, I’ve realize that the past 3 months has been really shit to me. I feel very lonely at times and hopeless and I keep getting recurring bad thoughts. Even though I ‘m surrounded by good people and I have 2 best friends that I can talk to about my problems…..but still….. Some part of me tells me that it will go away, some part of me tells me it wont…Its hard for me to explain what I’m going through. I guess I wish I knew.

Hopefully there’s a light at the end of the tunnel….

Why Marriages fail?

This is a good article at Askmen.com why marriages fail. More than 50% marriages fail in North America, and its been happening for the past 30 years. And 80% of the time, women are the ones that files for divorce, and it really is no surprise to me.

I honestly don’t see myself getting married. Not that I am saying I want a life partner someday. I could write an whole article why I don’t want to get married (which I will in the near future) but for now, here’s the top 10 reason’s marriages fail

Top 10: Marital Problems

Haven't had sex in a while? Stressing over your finances? Kids - what kids? Join the club. Here's what to do about your marital problems.

By Andrew Moore, Entertainment Correspondent

1:

Marriage is an institution, though sometimes it can feel like a mental institution. When yet another argument about your unwillingness to have kids follows hot on the heels of a fight about the laundry you forgot to do, it’s natural to feel like you’re going a little crazy.
Don’t fret. Spending so much time in another human being’s company will necessarily result in bouts of temporary insanity. The key is to not let these moments of marital madness wreck what is otherwise a healthy and loving partnership with your spouse.
The first step is to recognize that you’re not alone. All marriages are imperfect and most of them are imperfect in exactly the same ways. The list of marital problems you encounter in a healthy marriage isn’t so long and most of them are pretty manageable.
We’ve narrowed the list down to these top 10 marital problems.

2: Sex frequency

Infrequent sex is perhaps the most common marital problem. Married couples periodically stop having sex for all kinds of reasons: resentment, exhaustion, stress, you name it. The ironic thing is that having sex is a great way to relieve all the stress that is preventing you from having sex. If a lack of sex becomes an additional source of stress, it actually compounds the problem. To break a sex slump, try eliminating all the sources of stress in your wife’s life. Do the dishes, clean the bathroom and send the kids to Grandma’s. You’ll be surprised by the effect a clean and quiet house has on your partner.

3: Division of household responsibilities

Gone are the days when we can consider men’s work and women’s work clearly delineated categories. Men are just as likely to be captains of the kitchen and lords of the laundry room as women are. Problematically, this flexibility has left us in a nebulous space in which either partner could be doing any chore at any given moment, and by extension, neither of you thinks of any chore as your “job.” That’s what makes division of household responsibilities one of our top 10 marital problems. Be reasonable: Don’t let one person do all the work. Divvy up the chores. Try bargaining: If you hate doing laundry, ask her to do it, and in exchange pledge to keep the bathroom looking spic and span.

4: She's let herself go or (I should say he let himself go)

It happens. Some women let themselves go after they get married. Maybe they lose their incentive to stay fit once they’ve bagged a guy. Maybe they have trouble bouncing back after having a baby. There are numerous explanations, but if her physical unfitness is killing your libido, you have to do something about it. Try working out together; take up an activity like cycling or biking. And before making any comments about her weight, you might want to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror too, Bucko.

5: Unwillingness to have kids

Many women (and some men) see children as a necessary consequence of marriage. Whether or not to have kids is a major decision, perhaps the biggest you’ll ever make, so some hesitation on the baby-making front is understandable. That said, persistently putting off procreation can introduce a lot of stress into your marriage and is one of the most common marital problems. If you’re the one putting the breaks on baby plans because you’re nervous about having kids, you might want to start doing some math. If you wait three or four years, how old will you be when your hypothetical future kids graduate from high school or university? Thinking in those terms might help you sympathize a bit with your spouse, who feels these time pressures on a biological level.

6: Difference in parenting philosophies

Once you have kids, of course, they introduce 18 years worth of excitement and turbulence into your marriage. Kids spill stuff, break stuff and often steal stuff. The life of a parent can often feel like a constant struggle to get your children to eat their vegetables and, for God’s sake, put their pants back on! So what’s your parenting strategy going to be? Are you going to be cool, fun dad or the “just-wait-until-your-mother-gets-home” guy? Difference in parenting philosophies is another one of our top 10 common marital problems. The most important thing is to recognize that so long as you love your kids, they’ll probably turn out OK. You’ll quickly learn that presenting a united front on rules and punishments is more important than just about anything else.

7: Inability to have kids

Perhaps one of the most stressful marital problems is the inability to have kids. Infertility can totally derail the vision you shared for your future. The other difficult thing about it is that it’s nobody’s fault. Unlike household chores or sex frequency, no modification of behavior will change the fact that you’re infertile. This is yet another thing that the two of you should contemplate and talk about before trying to get pregnant. Prepare yourselves for the potentiality that kids might not happen; then, if they don’t, you’ll be better prepared to deal with it.

8: The in-laws

Whether it’s your nosy mother, or her mooch of a younger brother, in-laws can introduce some serious tension into your relationship. Recognize that it’s very easy for you to be critical of her in-laws, but not as easy to see the stress your family causes her. Yes, it’s entirely possible that your family is totally normal and hers is completely insane, but the more likely scenario is that your family is nuts too and you’ve just built up an immunity to their particular brand of craziness. Just try to remember before you make a fuss about going to her aunt’s for dinner, that your cousin comes over every Saturday to watch the game. Be respectful of her family time and she’ll be respectful of yours.

9: House stress

House stress is the next item on our list of top 10 marital problems. Getting married often means buying a house, and houses come with all manner of hassles. First and foremost, houses are expensive. Besides the mortgage you have to think about property taxes and maintenance costs. Before you even think about buying your dream home, make absolutely sure you can afford it. Saddle yourselves with an unmanageable debt and you might doom your marriage to failure.

10: Financial stresses

Speaking of financial stresses, you don’t need to own property to worry about money. The source of your money woes could be almost anything, from the fact that you always have to pick up the check at dinner to the fact that she’s helping pay off your student loans. Money may be the thing married couples fight about the most. The biggest solution to money problems is to talk about them. Be forthright and honest about things like your debt and adopt a policy of transparency when it comes to purchases.

11: Boredom

Spending almost every waking moment with the same person for the rest of your life may alternately seem comforting and terrifying. Probably the thing you worry most about is getting sick of one another. It’s to be expected that every so often your marriage will fall victim to boredom. But boredom isn’t as hard to beat as you might think. You can keep things fresh by taking up new hobbies, traveling to new places together and -- especially -- by trying new things in the bedroom. Now that doesn’t sound so bad, does it?

Female Psychology (by Sinn)

Sinn just published another great article on female psychology..and its definitely worth a read..

Female Psychology:

I. The Key to understanding the relationship between evolution and attraction can be stated thusly. Women are evolutionarily programmed to seek out the sperm(and consequently man) who will offer the best chance at helping her have healthy(and sexy) sons and daughters. Subconsciously this causes women to sort men into two categories, Lovers and Providers. Furthermore the difference between a lover and a provider often comes down to the man’s ability to demonstrate dominance. Dominance is THE factor that causes attraction, as women are evolutionarily programmed to seek out dominant men. If you want to learn more about evolutionary biology I suggest The Red Queen by Matt Ridley, Sperm Wars by Robin Baker, and The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins.

II. Another factor to understand is the power of the female sex drive. Society has been set up in a way to make it seem as if men are the only gender that enjoys sex. This could not be further from the truth. Additionally women do not experience their sexual peak until the age of 32 while men experience their sexual peak at the tender age of 18. That means women are continually becoming more sexual until the age of 32. To learn more about the female sex drive check out Nancy Friday’s My Secret Garden, Erotic Surrender by Claudia Varrin and the Story Of O by Pauline Reage.

III. Triune Brain Theory
Mammalian- Wraps around Reptialian. Limbic system. Hippocampus and the amygdala. Power station of our desires and motivations. Controls bonding and complex emotions such as jealousy, envy and love.
Reptilian- In charge of fight or flight instinct and automatic functions, also helps determine hierarchies and our need to dominate and one up others.
Cerebral Cortex- Controls Logic

IV. Logic Vs Emotion
All people make emotional decisions and then come up with logical arguments to support them.

What a woman says, indicates what she logically thinks she wants. What a woman does indicates what she REALLY wants

V. Sexual Arousal
Arousal is a combination of the Limbic and Reptilian brain. There are physical things happening as a woman becomes attracted. Arousal is an autonomic function.
Arousal must have the appropriate perceptual filter on it, in order for a woman to act on it(Credit SwinngCat for the wording). Each Brain system acts as a filter; logical- “He’s my type”, Emotional(limbic) Jealousy or Competition. Reptilian- Fear builds arousal. Women are sexually aroused multiple times a day but are not given the right desires to act on this arousal.

VI. Attraction is the feeling of wanting someone and the compulsion to act on that desire. Attraction is a feeling, which means that it is transient and can end at any time. Attraction in and of itself is useless without the proper amount of investment. This is why investment and not attraction is the secret to seducing women.
Attraction exists only as a tool to increase a woman’s amount of investment in the man.

VII. Girls just want to have FUN!
Emotional Stimulation- What you gets you the girl is one thing and one thing only, THE WAY YOU MAKE HER FEEL!
Fun is the ULTIMATE attraction switch.
The Roles Emotions have with women and pickup. Using emotions to relate, ground yourself, and establish an identity for the woman.

Song of the day: Jay Z, Bono, Rihanna

I heard this song when it first came out after the Haiti disaster, but I didn’t really paid attention to the song carefully. But I just came across this song again on my itunes and I realized how beautiful the song is…Being a big fan of U2, I think Bono made a good choice by collaborating with Jay Z and Rihanna…

Moral confusion in the name of ‘science’

I had argument about this topic with so many people; Does morality comes from religion? Every religious person will say yes. But others will definitely disagree including me.

Various authors and journalist have discussed this topic, including Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and other scientists.

Here’s a debate between Christopher Hitchens vs Al Sharpton..By the way, Christopher Hitchen will school anybody when it comes to debating about god. If you wanna know more about Hitchen’s you should read ‘god is not great; how religion poisons everything.’ although I must say its a bit one sided.

Anyways, the reason I decided to write an article on morality is because the author ‘Sam Harris’ did a talk at the 2010 TED conference last week. It was a pretty good lecture, although he didn’t talk about much since he only had 20 minutes..but make sure the check the video and the article where he responded to his critics.

Catholic Priests…

I find it astonishing to see people are still affiliated with the catholic church even when there’s sooo many sexual abuse cases not just in America, but all around the world.  If this was a different organization, people would leave for sure.

What’s fucked up is no priest is going to jail for this. If a regular guy gets caught for sexually abusing a kid, he would for sure spent atleast 10-20 years in prison. But you don’t see these fucking priests in jail..

Anyways, I truly despise religion, and I do believe it does more harm than good…but that’s a discussion for a different post.

Check out this article at Huffington Post when Christopher Hitchens was on ‘Real time with Bill Maher’

Song of the day: Kyau & Albert - once in a life

Today’s song of the day goes to DJ Kyau & Albert. I heard their new single at Above & Beyond podcast (Trance Around The World) and I immediately feel in love with it..I have been a fan of Kyau & Albert for a while and I think this is one of their best songs yet…

Do women have all the power??

imageI just have to say that David Shade is the fucking MAN. I wish I knew about him in high school and even in college. He is considered the top sex & relationship expert and has been teaching men how to be better with women for the past 12 years. I only recently found out about him a few month ago, and after getting a copy of one of his book, I gotta say that I learned sooo much from him. Not only he talks about how to give women amazing orgasms (which I can tell you from my personal experience that it definitely works) but the most important thing is to pick the right women. The problem is that we men think we know a lot about women, but we sure don’t.

If you don’t know who David Shade is, and you want to know more about him, you should definitely subscribe to his email. He sends out weekly emails answering questions from people like you and me. The problem with guys is that once we get a girlfriend we think we have it all covered, but its actually quite the opposite. Keeping her attracted to you is the hardest part. (this happened to me many times before)

I think he has about 4 or 5 books, but the one that I recently read was ‘The secrets of female sexuality: be the masterful lover women crave’ which is a must read for every men.

Anyways, I will talk more about him later on a different post, but make sure to check out this 10 minute video.

Bill Maher “New Rule: March 12th, 10”

image I am a big fan of Bill Maher. If you are not watching ‘Real time with Bill Maher’; you are really missing out. Its similar to John Stewart Daily show, but I think its a lot better, and he’s even funnier. I’ve been watching his show for the past 2 years now, but now I follow his work more closely, because I tend to agree with him on everything;  from religion to politics to marriage. (except maybe some health related issue). I saw him at an Atheist convention, and he was hilarious.

Anyways, towards the end of every episode, Bill Maher does a segment called the NEW RULE, in which he discusses topics that’s important. Last week, his new rule was amazing. He talks about education and how parents needs to play a big part in a kids life. Check it out for yourself.

During the early  part of the episode, Bill Maher was arguing with a conservative talk show host (Amy Holmes) because she didn’t believe in global warming. She said she was skeptical and the evidence didn’t suggest that it  was man made.  ( I know what a cunt, right? ) At some time, Bill Maher had to stop arguing with her because he got emotional, which I’ve never seen him like this before.

Anyways, check out the NEW RULES on you tube. His show is on Fridays at 10PM on HBO.

BBC Life (discovery channel)

imageInstead of  watching “Meet the Cardashians’ or ‘Jersey Shore’ or ‘I  like being retarded’; give some other shows a chance. Try to watch something that actually is interesting, informative and entertaining at the same time. Not just a bunch of bitches arguing about what to buy and what clubs to go to….Maybe some of you now saw the commercial for the upcoming nature documentary LIFE on television. This is the 11 part nature documentary series similar to PLANET EARTH series; which will air on Discovery Channel this month. “The series takes a global view of the specialized strategies and extreme behavior that living things have evolved in order to survive; what Charles Darwin termed "the struggle for existence". Four years in the making, the series has been shot entirely in high definition” (wiki). PLANET EARTH was an amazing show, and if you haven’t seen it, I really just don’t know what to tell you.

LIFE is another extraordinary nature documentary. Even if you don’t like watching nature shows, you will definitely like watching this. I saw LIFE right after BBC broadcast the whole series a few months ago. I saw it on HD which makes the whole experience a whole lot better. Some of the shots and sequences are just pure amazing to watch.

The BBC version of LIFE has 10 parts. The opening programme gives a general introduction to the series, a second looks at plants and the remainder are dedicated to the major animal groups – Mammals, Fish, Birds, Reptiles, Insects , Primates . They aim to show common features that have contributed to the success of each group, and to document intimate and dramatic moments in the lives of selected species chosen for their charisma or their extraordinary behavior. A ten-minute making of feature Life on Location airs at the end of each episode, taking the total running time to 60 minutes. There are amazing animal behaviors documented in the series. There’s a part in one episode where you see a bunch of Komodo Dragons (reptiles) attacking and eating a buffalo. That’s right, a fucken buffalo.

Even though the American version of LIFE will be narrated by Oprah Winfrey (which btw I think is a joke and an insult to the original series) ; the original series was narrated and co wrote by David Attenborough. I don’t know if you ever heard of David Attenborough. His career as the respected face and voice of natural history programs has endured for more than 50 years. There’s no word describing his voice for natural history shows. The way he narrates the story is just unbelievable. He’s more than 80 years and still continues to voice natural programs.

I have seen plenty of natural history programmes but I gotta say that LIFE is one my favorites along with ‘Planet Earth’ ‘Blue Planet’ and ‘Life of Mammals’.

Anyways, make sure to check out the LIFE trailer and watch an episode when it airs to see if you like it (which I know you will). It starts on March 21st on discovery  channel at 8 PM (pacific time) or you can rent/buy the dvd.

Song of the Day : Broken Bells

Today’s song of the day goes to an indie band called Broken Bells,  ‘The high road’ I found out about this band by reading their album review on ‘The rolling stone magazine.’ I listened to the whole album and its freaking amazing. The opening song ‘the high road’ is such a beautiful song and I hope you check it out.

‘Hurt Locker’ winning best picture/ director; Nooo

I was very annoyed to see “The Hurt Locker” winning best picture and director. Even though I liked the movie I thought Avatar deserved it more. Avatar surely wasn’t the greatest of movies, but I thought it really revolutionized filmmaking and it was a good movie as well (except the alien lovemaking scene).

I would've rather picked ‘ Up in the Air ’ as the best picture and director, but I knew that would never happen. Its such a wonderful film; funny, sad and so honest, and George Clooney is just a joy to watch. What an amazing actor; I mean that guy has it all; looks, talent, personality (and he’s against marriage as well, which is awesome)

Anyways, back to Hurt Locker. Most of you won’t agree with me, but I think it was a political move to give the best picture / director award to Hurt Locker.  The thing is this kind of stuff almost happens almost every year at the oscars. A few years ago, ‘Crash’ won best picture which was such a big joke. The majority of academy voters consists of actors, which I think it shouldn’t be. They should also include critics and other members that are not actors.

But overall it was a pretty good oscar ceremony although it ran a little long. Steve Martin & Alec Baldwin were funny as hosts, but it seemed like Martin had all the jokes.

Aright, I don’t feel like writing anymore. But stay tune, hopefully in the next few weeks, I’ll have more post up

The oscars are tonight

The oscars are tonight, and I predict that Avatar will most likely take it all. I'll have my thoughts later in the week.

5 Types of Women You should not make your girlfriend

I have been following Sinn's work for quite sometime now. He is considered one of the best dating coaches in the world, and just from reading his blog, I learned a lot of women. This guy is only in his mid 20s, but still he gives valuable life lessons about women and dating. I am going to promote his blog a lot, and I hope you check out his website as well.

So credit to Sinn, here's the article on the 5 types of women you should never make your girlfriend

1. Strippers/Escorts/Porn Stars/Sex Workers- In the real world strippers are considered kinda gross. and it's well known that most of them moonlight as prostitutes if not at at least offer "extras". In the dating community, they are held up as the pinnacle of GAME achievement. I have dated a LOT of strippers, and while there are some that are normal, well adjusted and even cool. The vast majority have A LOT of problems, dramas, and baggage. They also don't have the best ideas about men, relationships, etc... I threw in the others because all of these women work in the sex trade. An industry where money is in some form or another exchanged for her sexuality, they may not all be whores but they're in the same industry. Porn is the funniest example of this because as my buddy Cam always says " The only difference between porn and prostitution, is a camera". I'm a little more of a Feminist than Dre and Snoop, so I'll just end this with my own quote that you SHOULDN'T make a sex worker a housewife. Sex workers tend to be targets or pleaser/wannabes that grew up to become attractive after high school. Queen Bees don't work in the sex trade.

2. The girl who cheated on her BF with you. This one is my personal favorite because sooo many guys I know seem to do it. I understand that if a woman is in a bad relationship or even an average one it's not THAT hard to pick her up, if you know what you're doing. The reason being that instead of having to compete with the 800 guys who are trying to court a hot single girl, you only have to be better than one guy. It's still the least logical, most arrogant way to get into a relationship. It's illogical, because she cheated on the last guy with you! Ergo she is predisposed to cheating on people. Which is not a good characteristic in a girlfriend. Don't cheat on me is pretty much the basement bottom of relationship requests. It's arrogant, because the only reason to even try to date a girl who cheated on her BF with you is because you think you're somehow different, or special and will be able to make it work where that other "loser" didn't. You're not special, neither am I and if a girl demonstrates that she's the type of person who cheats, she's the type of person I don't date. Girls who cheat run the entire spectrum of QBs and WBS there is no real correlating factor.

3. The Social Climber- Social climbers are a little harder to figure out as almost all girls are in a way social climbers. When I talk about social climbers here, I'm basing it on a friend on mine in the Los Angeles area. You can tell social climbers by the name dropping they do, and their obsession with the "NEW" and the "Exclusive." A social climber also tends to have A LOT of orbiters (guy friends). She definitely isn't afraid to use her female friends and even in dire situations herself as "bait" to get older rich men to pay for dinners, invite them to parties etc.. Social Climbers generally will ONLY hang out with a specific group of people. Everyone she ever introduces you to will know every other person she introduced you to. She may talk a lot about her "reputation" and how people know who she is. Social climbers are bad to date because they hold their status in the overall social hierarchy above any relationship and are always looking to "trade up" so to speak. Social Climbers tend to be Queen Bees, Bankers, and Sidekicks. The other kinds of types from QBs and WBs get into the game too late to understand how to climb socially while preserving a spotless sexual reputation. The other girls in these cliques eat them for breakfast.

4. The self proclaimed "Bitch"- Out of the girls on this list I've dated a lot of strippers and a TON of these girls. I actually like this type of girl a lot. Maybe cause I'm a little bitchy myself. There's a lot of good qualities self proclaimed "bitches" have, they tend to be hot, smart, funny, honest, and fun. They also tend to be extremely sarcastic, emotionally distant, cold, rude, demanding, and outright mean. These kinds of girls will talk early on about how they're a "bitch" they may even drop it the first night you meet them. These girls will usually be really hard "testers" or they may bust your balls a lot while being really physically engaging. The problem with dating these girls seriously is that they will not treat you well. Fundamentally these girls are fairly selfish and at the end of the day they will always come first in any relationship they're in. After a recent fairly intense break-up I swore off bitchy girls. These girls tend to be Queen Bees of fairly small social circles. They can;t climb too high socially because of their attitudes. Occasionally a Queen Bees sidekick will be this kind of girl whose job it is to keep everyone "in check" within the clique.

5. The Drama Queen- Drama Queens make EVERYTHING about themselves and their problems. Drama Queens are frequently the girls who start sentences with things like " I hate drama." or " I have mostly guy friends, because girls are too catty." Much like when racist southerners say " I'm not a racist, but" or " I like rap music, but..." you can be sure they're about to say some racist shit... When a girl rattles off one of those gems, you can be sure she loves the drama. I personally don't trust a girl who doesn't have close female friends. Drama Queens are bad because they are addicted for lack of a better word to the constant stimulation. A Drama Queen will also probably exist in a hierarchy like those in QBs and WBs she may be any of the roles, though most likely the Banker.

Anyways, make sure to check Sinns Of Attraction website. Its on the 'Useful websites that EVERY man should know about' section as well.

Dinosaur wiped by crater

There's an interesting article on BBC about the extinction of Dinosaurs. An international panel of experts has strongly endorsed evidence that a space impact was behind the mass extinction event that killed off the dinosaurs.

What actually killed the dinosaur always fascinated me. I took a dinosaur class in college and I remember studying the asteroid hitting the earth theory causing the dinosaur to die out.

Anyways I just it was very interesting article.

Rec 2

A few days ago, I decided to watch a scary horror movie by myself at night, which was such a bad idea coz I had a hard time sleeping. It was Rec 2; sequel to one of the greatest horror movie I've ever seen Rec If you haven't seen Rec, you really should even if you don't like horror movies that much. It is a brilliantly conceived, ridiculously effective horror film that will leave you gasping for air and begging for mercy. The movie tells the story using the camera crew's hand-held camera. It's a device that was used to great effect in Cloverfield and Romero's Diary of the Dead. But Rec did an amazing job because it felt very claustrophobic and scary.

I'm not gonna say too much but you should check it out. By the way, Quarantine was a knockoff from Rec, although Rec did much better interms of acting and action wise.

Ok, back to Rec 2. The story continues right after the first one ended, and we see a group of Swat team go inside the building to know what exactly is going on. Its a simple storyline and we don't get to know the characters much. But there were some moments where I actually jumped out of my seat. What's scary to me is when there's kids who turns into zombies or devils (they don't have a word for it in the movie) and comes running after you. The story is still told from the swat's hand-held camera, just like the first one.

I rank Rec as one of my favorite horror films of all time. But Rec 2 was a bit disappointing but overall entertaining and a good scary movie. If you wanna jump out of your seat, then this is definitely a movie for you. I give Rec 2 a 7 out of 10.

I'm thinking of watching Paranormal Activity in the next few days. I know, I'm like the only person in the world who hasn't seen it, even though I'm a horror fan. I'm just debating if I should watch it by myself or not.

PS - In the next few weeks, I'll have posts on 'men's guide to grooming and fashion'

New Blog

So I have been meaning to write a blog for the longest time. I figured once I have my life straighten out, then I would start focusing on it. But then I realized that there is always going to be something that I feel its gonna hold me back.
So I say no more. I'll start of writing 1 or 2 blogs a week..
You will read my opinions on life, women, dating, movie reviews, music, fashion & grooming, religion and everything else. Remember its only my opinion, and if you get offended..well I'm sorry...
I'm not the best of writers so you might see some grammatical errors here and there.
